A total of 541 teachers from government primary schools in Kutch district, including 328 from class 1 to 5 and 213 from class 6 to 8, will go home. The issue of shortage of teachers in Kutch schools has been a matter of concern for decades as teachers from outside the district are transferred after getting jobs in government primary schools. On this question, Divya Bhaskar published a report giving voice to the problems of students and parents. After this, the District Education Committee located in the Zilla Panchayat decided not to release the teachers who had been approved to change the district. Following this, a special recruitment was made on the condition of retirement in the appointment for Kutch. But not enough teachers have been found. However, there was an attempt to fill the gap with the recruitment of knowledge assistants. Still, there was a question of decline. In the meantime, it was decided to release the teachers who were transferred to the district at the end of December. However, the chairman of the District Education Committee (DEC) did not lay off the teachers of classes 6 to 8 fearing that the problem would worsen when the director from Gandhinagar announced an inter-district transfer camp. But eventually the teachers succumbed to the union and the director and decided to lay off all of them. More than 125 will be released in Rapar
Teachers from outside the district prefer the villages of East Kutch to West Kutch, so that when it comes time to release those who have been transferred to the district, there are a good number in Bhachau and Rapar. Even now, the figure is 125 in Rapar, 81 in Bhuj, 80 in Nakhatrana and 71 in Bhachau. While in Gandhidham, there are less than 5.
