A Pakistan-inspired ISI-underworld terror module busted by the Delhi Police has revealed that they were planning to attack police and security forces personnel involved in demolishing an unauthorised mosque in Garibnagar area of Bandra East. The Delhi Police on Saturday arrested eight terrorists, including a Nepali national. They planned to attack important installations, security installations and police personnel in Mumbai, Delhi and other cities. The demolition drive was carried out between May 19 and 23 amid heavy police deployment. They pelted stones and bottles at the police, injuring 10 policemen. The suspects carried out a recce of the demolition drive. They also sent videos and photos of the police deployment to their handlers in Pakistan, a senior Mumbai Police official said on Sunday. The terrorists had planned to attack the policemen and members of the Hindu community who were deployed in the security forces during the demolition. The conspiracy was hatched by Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), gangsters Shahzad Bhatti, Yawar Khan and Chhota Shakeel's close associate Munna Jhingada. Investigations revealed that the duo had surveyed the bridge outside Dadar railway station as a possible target, police said. The mobile phones seized from the accused included videos from various locations in Mumbai, chats and voices exchanged with their handlers in Pakistan and Dubai. The Mumbai based suspect has been identified as Huzaifa who recruited locals in the module and is currently absconding. Teams are working to trace him, the official said. Zyngada operates from Karachi while Jhingada operates from Karachi. He was the one who was carrying out the operation and coordinating the plan of the attack. According to the police, Zyngada had attacked gangster Chhoti Rajan in Bangkok in 2000 at the behest of Dawood Ibrahim and was later caught and spent 17 years in a Thai jail. A grenade attack was also planned, the official said, adding that the module was tasked with carrying out the grenade attack. In addition, police personnel, security forces personnel and major installations in Mumbai were also tasked with indiscriminate firing. Mumbai Police and Maharashtra ATS are on high alert after this information came to light and are investigating the local link linked to the network. Jhingada's name has surfaced as a conspirator.
