A meeting was held at the Municipal Corporation regarding the organization of the Swadeshi Mela. In which special shopping zones and craft clusters will be set up to provide direct market to the local artisans and artists. The Porbandar Municipal Corporation has planned to organize a Swadeshi Mela to promote the products of local artisans, small industries and entrepreneurs in the urban area and to realize 'Vocal for Local' and 'Make in India'. In this regard, a meeting of the Swadeshi Mela Committee was held at the Municipal Auditorium under the chairmanship of Municipal Commissioner T.C. Tirthani and in the presence of Deputy Municipal Commissioner Kishan Garsar. The Commissioner instructed to organize a program that gives global recognition to local handicrafts and artifacts keeping in mind the resolve of a developed India by 2047. It was also asked to give ample opportunity to local artists on the cultural stage and to give wide publicity to the citizens to buy a large number of indigenous products. The meeting was attended by Mamlatdar B.V. Sanchania and other members of the committee.
