'Poshan Sangam' Workshop held in Anand: Deliberations on improving the health of malnourished children

A special workshop was organized to improve the nutrition and health of malnourished children in Anand district. The workshop was held under the 'Poshan Sangam' programme at the International Agribusiness Management Institute , Anand Agriculture University. Under the guidance of District Development Officer Ms. Devahuti, an in-depth review and detailed discussion was held to strengthen the nutritional levels of children and to address the problems faced at the field level. The main objective of the event is to sustain the positive momentum of improving the health of malnourished children by providing them intensive health services. During the workshop, Divisional Deputy Director, Vadodara Zone gave a detailed explanation of the 'Poshan Sangam' programme. He laid special emphasis on meticulous and effective implementation of the scheme at the ground level. Scientific and practical guidance on qualitative improvement in the health of children, pregnant mothers, lactating mothers and adolescent girls was provided by the officials of the Health Department as well as experts from the field of Ayurveda and Homoeopathy. All the officials present made it clear that collective efforts of all departments are indispensable to eradicate the problem of malnutrition. On this occasion, the programme officer of Anand gave an overview of the 'Poshan Setu' programme being implemented in the district. He also complimented ICDS for making the Poshan Abhiyan a success. He appreciated the work of the team and support departments. This important workshop was attended by the ADHO of the Health Branch. Dr. Dr. V.H. Dave, Medical Officers of Homeopathic and Ayurvedic Medical Colleges, Child Development Plan Officers of all the components of the district, Chief Attendants, ICDS Officers, etc. A large number of officials including Zilla Panchayat staff and block coordinators were present.
