In Mahisagar district, the health department sprayed malathion powder in the cracks of kutcha houses in connection with the Chandipuram virus. Also, work was carried out in the area where cases were found in Chandipuram earlier. The health department has become alert about the Chandipura virus in Mahisagar district. A suspected case of Chandipura virus was reported in a child in Bhalada sub-centre area of Lunawada taluka. However, the health department is relieved that the child's report in the laboratory test is negative. However, special operations are being carried out in various areas of the district as a precautionary measure. Five teams of the health department are conducting malathion dusting in kutcha houses in villages under Bhalada sub-centre in Lunawada taluka. Health department teams across the district are making people aware about the prevention of Chandipura virus, malaria and other waterborne and vector-borne diseases. People are being urged to maintain hygiene, avoid waterlogging and immediately contact the nearest health centre in case of fever or other symptoms. Thus, the health system in Mahisagar district is fully geared up as a precautionary measure against the Chandipura virus.
