The district panchayat offices and all the 11 taluka panchayat offices in the district will remain open on Saturday and Sunday on the 11th and Sunday of the 12th to start the survey immediately in Amreli district. The decision was taken by the District Development Officer with the aim of providing immediate assistance to those affected by heavy rains and floods in Amreli district. The recent heavy rains in Amreli district have caused significant losses to farmers, cattle rearers and common citizens. The Revenue Department of the State Government has initiated the process of payment of compensation to the affected persons as per the norms for payment of ex-gratia for the loss due to natural calamity. All taluka panchayat offices in the district have been instructed to remain functional even on public holidays like Saturdays and Sundays to complete the survey work of rain damage expeditiously. So that the damage to crops, livestock, houses and other necessities of life in the affected areas can be accurately assessed. Reports of rain damage have been received from all the talukas of Amreli district. In view of this situation, all Taluka Development Officers, Mamlatdars and Provincial Officers and concerned officers have been instructed. They should complete the survey expeditiously and ensure that those affected get assistance in a timely manner. The government will have to complete the work of preparing the report by continuing the offices on the 11th and 12th, surveying the damage on the spot. The administration has termed this work as very important and time-bound and instructed to take special care to avoid any unnecessary delay. Complete the survey in two days
