The Indian Cricket Board has taken a big decision. Now the head of the Center of Excellence (COE) VVS Laxman will be present at the selection meeting of Team India. BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia has confirmed this. Ajit Agarkar's tenure as Chief Selector has ended.
On Tuesday evening, the BCCI shared a picture on its social media platform 'X', in which Laxman was seen at the senior men's team selection meeting held at the ACA Stadium in Guwahati. Apart from Saikia, senior men's selection panel members Pragyan Ojha, SS Das, Ajay Ratra and RP Singh were also present in this meeting. They had gathered to pick the Indian team for the five-match T20 International series against New Zealand and the three-match red-ball A series against New Zealand A.
In recent times, there have been some confusions regarding the availability of players in the selection of men's teams. Many times the players were included in the team, but later they had to be excluded because they were not fully fit before the tour. In such a situation, the BCCI has now taken this important decision.
