Bhavnagar railway division was marginalised in terms of railway facilities in amreli, a lower and neighbouring district. But after the completion of the work of broad gauge line between Khijdia-Amreli, Bhavnagar is going to benefit directly. Despite the passage of a long time, the work of this gauge conversion has not been completed. A broad gauge line is being laid at a distance of 17 km between Khijdia-Amreli, and its work is going on at a snail's pace. As the broad gauge line project being laid at a cost of Rs 178 crore was passing through the Gir sanctuary, a lot of time was spent in the forest department's clearances and other matters. The work, which started in August 2022, is yet to be completed, if the gauge conversion of 17 km takes so much time, then what about the big project?. The inspection work will be carried out by the Commissioner of Railway Safety after the completion of the gauge conversion work. After the completion of Amreli-Khijdia gauge conversion, passengers of Amreli, Chalala, Visavadar, Dhari, Chittal, Lathi, Dhasa can get the benefit of long distance trains. Apart from this, keeping in mind the social equations of Amreli-Surat and if the train of Surat is allotted, then the passengers of Bhavnagar can also get connections from Dhasa, Dhola, Botad. Bhavnagar-Amreli road load may be reduced
Bhavnagar-Amreli is a neighbouring district and is also socially and economically connected. Road transport is the only option between these two districts, so private motorists tend to chase commuters at par. With the introduction of train services between Bhavnagar-Amreli, passengers can get relief in financial matters, as well as reduce the travel hours along with safe travel. Therefore, there is a meeting on the completion of the work of this line in Bhavnagar.
