Vadodara: The Makarpura police have finally registered a case of abetment to suicide against two persons from Jetpur in Morbi taluka and a man from Ahmedabad in connection with the suicide of a businessman living in Danteshwar by jumping into the Narmada canal.
Hetal Patel, a resident of Nehal Park Society in Danteshwar area, has lodged a complaint against Vishal, Jai alias Jayesh of Jetpur and Jignesh of Ahmedabad at Makarpura police station, saying that my husband Anand Naginbhai Patel (40) used to work in the name of Chaitanya Enterprise at Infinity Arcade near Pratapnagar Bridge.
The business money was being exchanged with the three men associated with my husband's business. The husband had sent Rs 20 lakh to the trio through Ashfaq, manager of GPS Pvt Ltd at Ahmedabad, through an Angadia firm. As well as H.M. at Sultanpura in Vadodara. Rs 6.80 lakh was sent by the Angadia firm in July 2022. Out of this amount, Rs 20 lakh was sent back through RTGS, while the remaining amount of Rs 6.80 lakh was promised to be returned after 15 days.
The three men used to pounce on each other when my husband collected the dues. Due to not getting the money back, my husband's impression in the market started deteriorating and the business was also affected. The three, who were demanding money, used to say that now you will not get your money, do whatever you want, my husband told them that I have no choice left, I will commit suicide or do something else. This time Jayesh said do whatever you want to do. On July 22, 2023, Jayesh had made an online transfer of Rs 1 lakh to the account of Chaitanya Enterprises but did not return the remaining amount of Rs 5.80 lakh. He was in financial crisis due to the money he borrowed to make up for this loss.
It may be recalled that the body of businessman Anandbhai, who had gone missing from home on May 4, was found in an unclaimed condition from manekpur Narmada canal in Waghodia taluka before the body of the trader was found in the canal passing between Gajapura and Gadit villages of Halol taluka on May 6. The police had recovered the alleged last letter written by the businessman before committing suicide, which the police seized and registered a case as mentioned above and further investigation is underway.
