Navratri means the Triveni confluence of Garba, worship and enthusiasm. But the unique way that the bikers of Surat have adopted to show their devotion to Maa Durga has been seen for the first time not only in Surat or Gujarat, but in the whole world. More than 100 bikers from the Surat biking community gathered at Dabhari beach near the city and carved a grand effigment of Maa Durga with the help of 71 premium bikes worth Rs 2 crore. As soon as this spectacular sight was captured by a drone camera from the sky, the entire beach became devotional. 10 days of micro-planning and confluence of 71 bikes
Pinak Mashruwala, president of Surat Biking Community (SBC), said, "The idea of expressing special devotion to Maa Durga on the occasion of Navratri has been in our mind for a long time. Our team had been planning day and night for the last 10 days to make this event a reality. Initially, around 100 bikes were brought, out of which the façade of Maa Durga was successfully completed by making a perfect arrangement of 71 bikes. Tilak washed away due to tidal waves in the sea, struggle lasted for 4 hours
During this huge construction, the team also faced natural challenges. Describing the difficulties, Pinakbhai said, "In the morning, there was a sudden tide in the sea. We were just starting to make a tilak of Maa Durga when the tilak of the waves swept away, due to which all the bikes had to be removed immediately. Despite this obstacle, the team did not lose courage. We went a little further and made a fresh start on the sand. Due to this incident, an additional 2 hours of time was wasted and the entire process took a total of 4 hours to complete. Bikes worth 2 crore on one platform
The event was not only a symbol of devotion but also a great example of the unity of the biking community. All the well-known motorcycle showrooms operating in Surat enthusiastically participated in the event and each dealer contributed by donating 2 to 3 new bikes. The estimated cost of the bikes used in this diagram is estimated to be more than ₹2 crore. This grand replica included bikes from all reputed brands like Suzuki, Yamaha, TVS, Royal Enfield, Hero, Honda, Triumph, KTM, BMW, Aprilia, Java, Yezdi, BSA and Bajaj among others. After 'Om' and 'Shri Ram', now a new world record is set to be set
Team SBC has done such religious and creative experiments in the past as well. Earlier, on the occasion of Mahashivratri, the team had set a record by writing the name of Lord 'Shri Ram' with the help of 65 bikes on the occasion of Ram Navami, which was officially recognized by the 'World Records of India'. This time, by making a face of Maa Durga with 71 bikes, the team has taken steps towards breaking their own record, which has every possibility of getting a place in the world record once again.
