Saurashtra Samachar Analysis: Saurashtra tops the list in water storage for the third consecutive month

Bhavnagar district has topped the charts in percentage water storage in reservoirs in Saurashtra for the third consecutive month this monsoon. A total of 12 reservoirs in Bhavnagar district have a water storage capacity of 472.72 million cubic meters against the live storage of 462.23 million cubic meters of water. Porbandar district is second in Saurashtra with 96.91 per cent. Rajkot district has the highest storage of water. It has stored 584.43 million cubic meters of water. But in Rajkot, the percentage against the total collection is 94.97 per cent. Of the 12 major reservoirs in Bhavnagar district, 10 are currently 100 per cent full. These include Shetrunji Dam, Rojki Dam of Mahuva, Bagad Dam of Mahuva, Pingli Dam of Talaja, Rajaval Dam of Palitana, Hanol Dam of Palitana, Hamirpara Dam of Talaja, Ranghola Dam of Umrala, Malan Dam of Mahuva and Kharo Dam of Palitana . Of the two reservoirs that are empty, the latest Jaspara and Amandwa dam is filled to 39.52 per cent of the total storage capacity. The Lakhka dam is only 6.52 per cent of its capacity.
