Yesterday, the city of Ahmedabad was hit by a cloud of clouds. Despite the average rainfall of two inches in the city, waterlogging was created in many areas, causing inconvenience to motorists. The water level of the Sabarmati river rose as one lakh cusecs of water was released from Sant Sarovar. Due to this, the walkway of the Ahmedabad riverfront was flooded. Houses collapsed at 4 places in the city and two people were injured while the underpass near Gandhi Bridge was closed for vehicles. The last two years have received the highest rainfall in the last seven years. Ahmedabad received 110 per cent of the season's rainfall (39.73 inches) from June 1 to September 7.
