Suicide: Youth lodged in Dahod sub-jail for 23 days in abduction and rape case hangs

A youth from Rajasthan, who has been lodged for the last 23 days in connection with a case of kidnapping and rape in a sub-jail in Dahod, committed suicide by tying a nadu to the ventilation of a jail cell. A case of accidental death was registered at the taluka police station and a panel post mortem was conducted at Zydus Hospital. It is speculated that the young man took this unwise step due to the feeling of betrayal in love and the lack of money to hire a lawyer to secure bail. According to reports, 21-year-old Rajesh Valu Pargi, a resident of Upadi village in Rajasthan's Banswara district and a labourer in Ahmedabad, fell in love with a girl who was working as a nurse in Gandhinagar and a resident of a village near Dahod city. On March 25, 2025, Rajesh abducted the girl from a bus stand in Dahod and took her to his native place. After the family came to know about the matter after the search, a case was registered against Rajesh at Dahod B Division police station on April 4, 2025. The girl was handed over to her family after her arrest by the police. On August 14, 2025, he was lodged as a prisoner in the sub-jail in Doki on the basis of a court order. Twice during this imprisonment, she came to see her mother. He could not arrange for a lawyer to be released on bail as his financial condition was not good. The lover also felt betrayed in love as the family had accepted it. On September 6, hours after calling a relative from jail and expressing his desire to call his brother-in-law to meet him in jail, he committed suicide by hanging himself by hanging himself from the ventilation window of one of the cells of the jail. Following the incident, there was a commotion in the jail. A case of accidental death was registered at the Taluka Police Station by Jail Superintendent ML Gamar after videography of the incident and paperwork of the incident in the jail in the presence of SDM, Jail Superintendent, Forensic Doctor, PI. Rajesh's body was handed over to the family after a forensic postmortem was conducted at Zydus Hospital in Dahod. Hours after calling a relative and expressing his desire to meet his brother-in-law, he was strangled Rajesh Pargi, a resident of Upadi Madkola village in Rajasthan, has his mother Bhuri Devi and a married sister. Rajesh was imprisoned in jail but did not have the necessary financial facilities to hire a lawyer. Therefore, on his request, an attempt was made to solve the legal problem by visiting a lawyer and paralegal counsellor in the jail. On August 28, Rajesh was produced before the judge through video conferencing. Later, on September 3, his mother Bhuri Devi went to meet him in jail. However, on September 6, Rajesh called up a relative from jail and expressed his desire to meet his brother-in-law. Teenage girl working as a nurse, young man falls in love with social media Rajesh, who was hanged in jail, was working as a labourer in Ahmedabad. The teenager was studying in the first year of Gandhinagar Nursing College near Dahod city when he ran away. They were introduced to each other because they had numbers in a WhatsApp group. The acquaintance turned into love after the two fell in love with each other in a WhatsApp chat. After the meeting, the two lovers decided to have sex with each other. Legal ignorance weighed heavily on Rajesh's life The girl, who was abducted by Rajesh at 2 pm on March 25, was born on March 10, 2007. The girl was 17 years, 11 months and 15 days old on March 25. There were 15 days left to become an adult. A case of kidnapping was registered against Rajesh as he was legally the parent. A big question arises here if both of them had legal knowledge perhaps they would have realised that the move would lead to jail and legal entanglements. If both of them had been guided and stayed for a fortnight, perhaps the crime would not have been filed or he could have escaped from jail by fighting legally and would have been alive today.
