The West Kutch police have been alerted due to heavy rains and have made necessary suggestions by contacting the sarpanches through the control room by arranging tight arrangements in the river-nullah and dam area. Due to this, some areas have been affected and new water has come into the rivers, streams and dams. In order to avoid any untoward incident, West Kutch SP Vikas Sunda has asked the DySP and all police station officials to maintain tight security and in case of waterlogging in the low-lying areas, coordinate with the administration and evacuate the people. Police personnel have been deployed at Dhunaraja and Rudramata dams. Constant monitoring is being done by the police to ensure that there is no traffic on the road during the ongoing rains. A police team has also been stationed on the banks of Hamirsar lake in Bhuj and at Ogaon. Apart from this, continuous patrolling is also being done on the river and sea coast. After taking stock of the situation through video call and telephonic contact with village Sarpanches through the control room, necessary instructions and preparations for security have been given. The West Kutch police have appealed to the people not to venture out except for essential work and not to go towards the Oganta dam and river drain and stay safe at home.
