Chief Election Commissioner of India Gyanesh Kumar to visit Gujarat: On a two-day visit from today, will directly interact with BLO and ELC members

Chief Election Commissioner of India Gyanesh Kumar is on a two-day visit to Gujarat on September 10 and 11, 2026. During the visit, he will be interacting with Booth Level Officers (BLOs), members of Electoral Literacy Clubs (ELCs) of the State as well as enlightened citizens. The programme has been organized with the vision of 'Role to Poll Transparency'. Commencement of the tour from Sabarmati Ashram CEC will begin the journey by paying homage to revered Mahatma Gandhi at Sabarmati Ashram today, September 10. He will then visit Adalaj ni stepwell to get acquainted with the historical and cultural heritage of the state. In the evening, he will be interacting with enlightened citizens on the topic 'Conducting Elections in India – World's Largest Democracy' at Ahmedabad Management Association premises. Direct interaction with over 500 BLOs On the second day of the visit, on 11th September, CEC will interact with over 500 BLOs from across the State at Atal Kalam Hall, Gujarat University. Discussions will be held on issues to enhance transparency and credibility in view of the important role of BLOs at various stages of the electoral process including preparation of electoral roll. Mentoring more than 1000 ELC members This will be followed by an interaction with the members of more than 1000 Electoral Literacy Clubs at AUDA Auditorium, Shela. The event, will showcase the vision, mission and salient features of the recently launched ELC 2.0. The role of ELCs in raising awareness about the electoral process, especially among youth and citizens, will be mentored. A special session on ECINET will also be held. During the event, a special session on ECINET, the 'All Solutions Platform' related to elections, will be held. Officials and concerned members will be briefed on various digital and technology based services related to the election process. Senior officials of ECI to provide technical guidance During the two-day event, senior officials of the Election Commission of India will provide guidance on various topics through PowerPoint Presentations. These include Director General Ashish Goel (Media), Director General Seema Khanna (IT), Director Shubhra Saxena and Deputy Director Apurva Kumar Singh (Media). Focus on Transparency from Electoral Roll to Voting Special arrangements have been made by the team of Chief Electoral Officer Sandeep Sagale regarding the visit of the Chief Election Commissioner to Gujarat. The main objective of the entire visit will be to strengthen transparency, voter awareness and credibility in the electoral process at every stage from the process of preparation of electoral roll to voting.
