The Ganesh festival concluded on Saturday in Sabarkantha district. Devotees enthusiastically took out processions amidst heavy rains in various parts of the district including Himmatnagar and Idar. The procession passed through various roads of the city amid police bandobast in Himmatnagar. Several Ganpati Yuvak Mandals and residents of the society took the idols to places like Idar, Sapteshwar and Raigad and immersed them. In Idar, the administration had arranged for a special kund in Rani Lake. The municipality had made special plans for immersion near Rani Lake near Panjrapole. Some mandals had immersed themselves at Raigad lake near Sapteshwar and Ganbhoi. The procession was also taken out amidst rains in rural areas including Sonasan in Prantij taluka. A large number of men, women and youth participated. The immersion procession concluded peacefully across the district.
