Bhaskar News | Porbandar: Mineral theft worth crores of rupees has been caught on the banks of the Bhadar river in Segaras village of Kutiyana in Porbandar. Excavator machines and trucks have been seized during the raid. Strict action has been initiated by the administration against illegal mineral mining activities in Porbandar district. On the directions of District Collector S.D. Dhanani and under the guidance of geologists K.N. Parmar and Mitesh Modi, a major operation was carried out by the regional team of the geologist's office at Kutiyana. During the search, seized approximately Rs. 10,000 crore which was used for unauthorized mining and transportation. Machinery worth Rs 33 lakh has been seized by the authorities. During the investigation, it came to light that this completely unauthorised mining was being done by a person named Bhavinbhai Narayanbhai Bhatu. The man has been found to have been involved in crimes of mineral theft in the past as well. At present, strict legal action has been taken against all the responsible persons involved in this crime as per the rules. This drastic action by the administration has caused a huge flutter among the mineral mafia.
