Violence broke out at vaikunth tenement in Madhuram area of Junagadh due to a family dispute. The rift between police constable Asmitaben Vinjuda and her husband Jalpeshbhai Chauhan took a serious turn. Members of both the parties sustained injuries in the incident and the three parties have lodged a police complaint against each other for attacking, assaulting and threatening to kill them. The main reason for this whole incident is the long-standing dispute between the husband and wife. Asmitaben Maganbhai Vinjuda (35) and her husband Jalpeshbhai Karshanbhai Chauhan (35), who worked as a police constable in junagadh women's unit, got married in 2011. They have a daughter and a son from this married life. However, for the last two-three years, they have been living separately. Asmitaben along with the children in The Vaikunth Tenement block no. The incident started around 12 noon on September 4, 2025. Jalpesh Chauhan approached the window of his wife Asmita's house and shouted loudly, 'Why are you sitting with that Ahir?' Asmitaben Vinjuda, while giving a statement to the police after being admitted to Junagadh Civil Hospital, said that her mother-in-law Hiraben and sister-in-law Rasila had also reached there during jalpesh's period. Hiraben had a wooden dhoka in her hand. Asmitaben alleged that when Hiraben tried to hit her with a dhoka, she grabbed the dhoka while Rasilaben grabbed her hair. Asmitaben said her mother-in-law Hiraben was hit on her leg and back with a wooden stick, while Jalpesh and Rasila hit her with a stick. Man accused of attempting to kill him with sword in attack
The complaint further states that during the attack, Jalpesh Chauhan took out a sword and tried to kill Asmitaben, but his mother Manjuben (age 60) fell in the middle and kept the wooden stick in her hand, due to which she did not get hit by the sword. The attackers could not beat up more as people gathered around in the entire incident. In the complaint, Asmitaben said that the trio of Jalpesh, Hiraben and Rasila had also threatened to kill her and her mother. Asmitaben and her mother Manjuben sustained injuries in the attack. After the incident, the other party also lodged a complaint during treatment in the trauma ward of Junagadh Civil Hospital. Jalpesh's mother Heeraben Karshanbhai Chauhan (60) told the police that her son Jalpesh had gone to inquire about his wife Asmita's lover, which provoked Asmita and her mother Manjuben and started abusing Jalpesh. When Jalpesh came home to report this, Hiraben and her daughter Rasila (44) went out."Asmita and Manjuben abused her and said, 'We have beaten your son Jalpesh and still have to beat him, get him out,'" Hiraben said in the complaint. The mother-daughter duo then attacked Hiraben and Rasila with a wooden stick in their hands. Hiraben sustained injuries near the elbow and thumb of her left hand in the attack, while Rasila sustained serious injuries after being hit on the body and head. Due to this attack, rasila had blood coming out of her head and she had to take stitches. After the attack, Jalpesh fell in the middle and saved him from further beatings. The third complaint has been filed by Jalpesh Chauhan, who was seriously injured in the attack. In his complaint, he has levelled serious allegations against his wife's family members, including Jalpesh's brother-in-law Vijay, Rahul, uncle's father-in-law Kalabhai, mother-in-law Manjuben and an unknown person.Jalpeshbhai said that around 8.30 pm, when he was on the Activa near his house, his wife Asmita, brother-in-law and mother-in-law were standing there with a tempo. As soon as she saw them, Asmitaben shouted, 'Let's finish this today. The brothers-in-law then took a wooden plank and broke down on Jalpeshbhai. In this attack, he was beaten mercilessly in the head, legs and other parts of the body. According to Jalpesh, his mother-in-law Manjuben also beat him up with a wooden stick. The accused threatened him, "Today you will not be released and you have to finish it at this place." In this deadly attack, Jalpesh Chauhan suffered serious injuries and was immediately taken to the Civil Hospital in Junagadh for treatment by 108 ambulance. He is currently undergoing treatment. The police are investigating the whole matter in depth.
All three complaints show different aspects of the same family feud. Within a single day, both sides have accused each other of assaulting, beating and threatening to kill each other. This case highlights the seriousness of increasing violence and tension in family relationships. The police have registered all the three complaints and initiated legal action and the entire matter is being probed in depth.
