Of the 10 dams in the district, only Machchu-1 and Ghodadhroi dam are 100 per cent full. Machchu-II dam, which is important for Morbi and Malia, is only 70 per cent full. If we look at the status of other dams, Demi-1 is 44.88%, Demi-2 80.97%, Bangavadi 31.47%, Brahmani 97.89%, Brahmani-2 57.32%, Machchu-3 85.11% and Demi-3 only 3.08%. The state of dams is worrisome as the monsoon is nearing its end. In the coming year, people are likely to face difficulties for drinking water and irrigation to farmers. However, there were no reports of waterlogging or any other damage due to the ongoing rains.
