The incident took place at 2 pm yesterday at the famous Shaktipeeth in Pavagadh when the wire of the freight ropeway collapsed. Six people have died in this accident. The deceased include two ropeway operators, a security guard, a food worker, a flower merchant and another person. The local MLA and the police machinery rushed to the spot immediately after the accident was reported. All the deceased were shifted to Halol Referral Hospital for postmortem. The post-mortem proceedings continued till 12:30 am. The deceased ropeway operators Mohammad Anwar Mohammad Sharif Khan and Balwant Singh Dhaniram were both residents of Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir. His body has been shifted to Sayaji Hospital in Vadodara. From where they will be safely kept in a glass box and taken to their hometown Rajouri.
