HRF's submission to the central government on men's rights and fair legal process

Rajkot: The Human Rights Federation (HRF) has submitted a representation to the Government of India via email, seeking to ensure that men also receive equal access to justice, that legal procedures remain fair and impartial, and that the lives and futures of innocent individuals are not adversely affected by cases that remain pending for prolonged periods.

In the representation submitted by Mr. Mahendra Ayalani, International President of HRF, to the Hon’ble Prime Minister and the concerned government authorities, the organization has called for appropriate protection of men's rights alongside the implementation of laws aimed at ensuring the safety and protection of women.

The representation states that while it is essential for a complainant to receive justice, the person facing the complaint should also be provided with a fair investigation, an adequate opportunity to present evidence, and the right to a fair hearing. According to HRF, rather than considering a person guilty solely on the basis of an allegation, decisions should be made in accordance with due legal process and based on the available evidence.

In its representation to the government, HRF has requested appropriate action in cases where a complaint is proven to have been deliberately false, expedited disposal of long-pending cases, and necessary measures to ensure the protection of the legal rights of both parties—the complainant and the accused.

Speaking on the matter, Mr. Mahendra Ayalani said, “Our fight is not against any woman or man. Our only demand is that everyone should receive justice. No woman should face injustice, and no man should face injustice either. Justice should not be determined by a person’s gender, but by facts, evidence, and the law.”

HRF has urged the government to seriously consider the issue and take necessary steps to make the legal process more just, impartial, and effective.

Note: This representation submitted by HRF reflects the organization’s demands and views. In any specific case, the determination of guilt or innocence can only be made through the applicable legal process and by a competent court.
