Scientists were present at the Sayajirao Gaekwad Memorial National Science Conference. Director of the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, Prof. Govindan Rangarajan said that human intelligence is more powerful than AI. Lectures were held by researchers and scientists in all departments of the Faculty of Science. The Sayajirao Gaekwad Memorial National Science Conference-20226 organized by the Faculty of Science, Maharaja Sayajirao University was inaugurated by Prof. C. C. It was held at Mehta Auditorium. The two-day National Conference is celebrated to mark the birth anniversary of Sir Sayajirao Gaekwad III and celebrate his visionary contributions in education, science and social progress. Convener Prof. K. Dr. V. Muraleedharan highlighted the importance of scientific innovation and interdisciplinary collaboration in addressing contemporary global challenges. The keynote speaker was Prof. Govindan Rangarajan spoke about the growing influence of AI in the scientific and academic fields. He emphasized the importance of maintaining originality and critical thinking to remain relevant in the AI era, asking educational administrators to effectively present challenges and opportunities on AI in the field of education. Bhalchandra Bhang, VC of the University, highlighted the visionary educational reforms initiated by Sayajirao Gaekwad and emphasized the important role of universities in nurturing scientific temperament, innovation, and research excellence. Chancellor Rajmata Shubhangini Raje Gaekwad reflected on the progressive legacy of Sir Sayajirao Gaekwad and encouraged young researchers and students to pursue science with dedication and commitment for societal development.
