"I made a big mistake... My life has been in danger for two days!" – These are the painful words of a victim from Vadodara, who faced the horrific reality of 'Kerala Story 2' after having a court marriage with a man of another religion two years ago. The woman has lodged a complaint at the Bapod police station after the physical and mental torture by her husband Salman Salim Khan Pathan, threats to cut the knife into pieces and put it in a bag and kill her. The police have arrested the accused and the victim is being protected and counselled by the SHE team, but the girl says, "Now there is a way out, save lives!" The incident has once again exposed the hidden dangers of inter-faith marriage and the dark side of domestic violence. 'He took me away in the field and threatened me with a knife' The victim said, "I have made a big mistake but now I want to correct my mistake. Now I want to get rid of him, because he bothers me a lot, troubles me a lot. They threaten to kill me, run after me with knives, run after me all over Ekta Nagar. There was a great danger to my life for two days, for I had been taken to a field far away, and there was a very dangerous knife in my hand. He was threatening me whether I wanted to stay with him or not. "If you go to me, I'll kill your family." "He put a knife on my neck," he said. You've kept me by intimidating and threatening me so far, that's why I don't have anything left. My mom used to threaten to kill people. If you go or me, you'll beat your family. I was tired of fighting when my mom stabbed me. I am not afraid of anyone, even the government will not be able to do anything to me. I want to be forced there and keep the other girl too. 'The victim did not complain to the police about the conversion' DCP Zone-4 Andrew McEwan said, "This is not a case of love jihad, but of a quarrel between husband and wife. In the year 2025, she came to know that her husband was having an affair with another woman. When asked about this, she abused her and beat her up. She then went to the pier. She went back to her in-laws' house after her husband's family members persuaded. The behaviour improved for a while, but after that, she suffered with the intention of not breaking the house, even though her husband repeatedly physically and mentally tortured her. On January 14, 2026, when the husband did not come home, he did not pick up the call. When he came home, he was abused and beaten up again. She went to the pier and started living with her mother. 'If you shout now, I'll cut it into pieces and put it in a bag.' The woman, along with her mother and her brother, was on her way to collect puja items at Kamalanagar in an autorickshaw when her husband Salman took her rickshaw to the hospital and forced the complainant to sit in his rickshaw. He was taken to a field on Ajwa-Neemeta Road. There he asked me if I wanted to stay with him or not. The complainant said that if you don't fight, you will stay. Then the husband hit her on the head with a mace. When she started crying, he put a handkerchief in her mouth and threatened to cut her into pieces and put it in a bag and kill her. He swore dirty, strangled and punched. He later ran away and called his brother. She was later shifted to the hospital for treatment. The Bapod police are further investigating the matter.
