The Gujarat government on Wednesday issued transfer orders of 72 IAS officers, making extensive changes in the state administration. Kutch Collector Anand Patel has been appointed as the Commissioner of Schools at Gandhinagar. Along with this, he has also been given additional charge of PM Poshan Yojana and Director of GCERT. Anand Patel, who took charge of Kutch in March 2025, was recently promoted to the rank of secretary. During his short but highly effective tenure, he has achieved great achievements in revenue, security and public interest works. Gandhidham Commissioner Manish Gurwani has been appointed as the Collector of Navsari. He has been replaced by BD Davera as Gandhidham municipal commissioner. Anil Kumar Ranavasiya, who is serving as the Collector of Junagadh district, has been appointed as the Collector of Kutch. Anil Kumar Ramjibhai Ranavasiya is an officer of the 2014 batch of the Indian Administrative Service i.e. IAS and is serving in Gujarat cadre. 'I will always strive for the education of Kutch'
Anand Patel, who is going to take over the important responsibility of 'Commissioner of Schools' in Gandhinagar, has given hope to the education world of Kutch. In a conversation with 'Divya Bhaskar', he said that even though his area of work will now be Gandhinagar, Kutch will always have a special place in his heart. As the state commissioner of schools, the administration of schools across the state will now work under his guidance. On this occasion, Anand Patel said, "So far, as a collector, I have made every effort for the education of Kutch. Now that I have been given the responsibility of the education department at the state level, I will continue to work to raise the level of education in Kutch and to give priority to the educational needs of the state." About 5,671 acres of land in 910 ponds in 281 villages of 10 talukas of Kutch were scientifically surveyed and given official status on revenue records. Earlier this month, he took a historic decision to officially designate 105 playgrounds in nine talukas to keep the younger generation away from mobile phones and return to the field. With the transfer, some of his ambitious projects will now be at the head of the new administrators. In an exclusive conversation with 'Divya Bhaskar', he said that one of his important tasks of identifying the glorious heritage and historical heritage of Kutch remains unfinished. Wheels were set in motion to bring these places on the tourism map and give them a new identity along with their maintenance. He added that the work on these 50 sites is incomplete at present, but I will discuss it in detail with the new Collector. So that this project does not stop and these heritage of Kutch gets its due status. Allotment of Land to Government Offices
Prior to the transfer order, the Collector on Tuesday had ordered the allotment of a total of 26.72 lakh square metres of land to various government departments. Amid the security responsibilities of the border district, Anand Patel maintained excellent coordination with the army and security agencies. She was awarded a Letter of Commendation by the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Indian Army in recognition of her activism especially during 'Operation Sindoor'. In addition, their disaster management and coordination skills were also appreciated by the BSF and Air Force.
