The incident of firing came to light near Royal Park in Jammu's Greater Kailash area on Wednesday evening. Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah and Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Chaudhary arrived to attend a wedding ceremony. According to reports, a sudden gunshot was heard near the venue of the ceremony, after which there was chaos in the area. The security personnel immediately swung into action and apprehended the suspect. Farooq Abdullah is completely safe. After the incident, security agencies and police have cordoned off the entire area and started investigation. According to police officials, the accused is being interrogated to ascertain his motive behind the firing and whether anyone else was involved in it. The police are currently investigating the matter and are also examining the footage of CCTV cameras installed in the vicinity. Officials say the cause of the incident will be known only after the investigation is over.
