US President Donald Trump's administration has launched a new investigation into the trade policies of 16 major countries, including India, China and the European Union (EU). The Trump administration believes that the trade practices of these countries are 'inappropriate'. After the Supreme Court struck down previous tariffs, Trump is now preparing to impose tariffs by adopting new legal routes.
Investigations into two main issues: production and labour
According to American Trade Representative (USTR) Jamison Greer, the investigation will be conducted in two phases.
