Janmashtami is being celebrated in temples across the country. On Friday night at 12 o'clock in the night, Lord Krishna was born from Mathura-Vrindavan to Jagannath Puri and Dwarka. The 5253rd birth anniversary of Lord Krishna has been celebrated. In Mathura Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi, Kanha was anointed with a silver Kamdhenu decorated with gold and Krishna Leelas were shown with 500 drones. More than 15 lakh devotees have visited Mathura till 6 pm. A 21-gun salute was given to the Lord at Nathdwara in Rajsamand in Rajasthan. Earlier, Mangala Aarti was performed at Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi in Mathura, Dwarkadhish Temple in Dwarka, ISKCON Temple in Delhi and Govind Dev Ji Temple in Jaipur. At the same time, Lord Krishna was anointed with 108 silver urns on the occasion of Janmashtami at ISKCON temple in Patna, Bihar.
