Indian Oil official Mahesh Shelke was stabbed to death on Tuesday when he came to seal a petrol pump in Maharashtra's Hingoli district. After the dispute, he was attacked with 7 stab wounds. According to the police, Mahesh along with the team of Indian Oil reached to seal the petrol pump in Ambakhondi village. During this time, he had a dispute with the family of the pump owner and the people present there. Mahesh was a manager and field officer in Indian Oil. This petrol pump was reopened a few days ago. Union Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri termed the murder as reprehensible and unacceptable. He said that the Ministry of Petroleum and Indian Oil will provide all possible help to Mahesh's family. Indian Oil Chairman said that he was attacked in the line of duty Indian Oil Chairman AS Sahni Sawhney said that he was extremely saddened by the death of Mahesh. He was fatally attacked during official duty in Hingoli, Maharashtra. Indian Oil described Mahesh as a talented and promising sales officer. According to the company, due to his hard work and honesty, he earned the respect of his colleagues. The company said that it stands firmly with his family in this difficult time and is providing all possible assistance. Officers' Association demands arrest within 24 hours The Indian Oil Officers' Association (IOOA) expressed grief and anger over the murder of Mahesh. The association has demanded an impartial probe into the matter. The association demanded the Petroleum Ministry, IndianOil and the Maharashtra government to arrest those responsible under the law within 24 hours. It also demanded assistance to Mahesh's family and increased security of the officers on duty.
