The Sabarmati river passing near Vijapur in Mehsana is also flowing on the banks of the river. Vehicular movement on the Bridge of Sabarmati River on Vijapur-Himmatnagar Highway has also been stopped due to the rising water level of sabarmati river. Water is being released into sabarmati river by opening 27 gates of Vasna barrage in Ahmedabad. The low-lying areas along the river bank have been put on alert as water is being released from the Vasna barrage.
