The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for heavy rainfall at isolated places in Banaskantha, Patan, Mehsana and Kutch on September 8. Yellow alert has been issued for heavy rainfall at isolated places in Sabarkantha, Aravalli, Gandhinagar, Ahmedabad, Surendranagar, Morbi, Jamnagar, Devbhoomi Dwarka, Navsari, Valsad, Daman and Dadra and Nagar Haveli. According to meteorologist Abhimanyu Chauhan, an orange alert has been predicted in the districts of south Gujarat with extremely heavy rainfall.
