'You are the last hope for the release of the film': Actress Pallavi Joshi writes to President Draupadi Murmu for the release of 'The Bengal Files'; "The truth needs protection.
Vivek Agnihotri's film 'The Bengal Files' has been mired in controversies even before its release. Multiplex owners in some states have refused to show it. Meanwhile, producer and actress Pallavi Joshi has written a letter to President Draupadi Murmu, seeking protection of her constitutional rights. Pallavi Joshi said, "I am writing this letter with a heavy heart, not for help but for protection. The last part of 'The Bengal Files' is releasing on September 5. The film tells the story of the Hindu massacre of Direct Action Day, the horrific events of Noakhali and the partition of India, which was suppressed for a long time. But the truth lies in West Bengal. The CHIEF minister had made fun of the film many years ago before it was completed. Since then, a baseless FIR has been filed, our trailer has been blocked by the police and advertisements are not even being printed in newspapers. My family is being threatened every day by political party workers. Now theatre owners have reported that they are being threatened, threatened and refusing to screen it as they fear violence by activists of the state's ruling party. There is no official ban, yet the unofficial ban silences the film even before it reaches the public. Pallavi further wrote letters to you, padma bhushan awardee famous actor Victor Banerjee and many Bengali organizations in India and abroad. Their support shows that even today people stand by the truth. Bengal Files is the voice of Mother India who is injured but not broken. This is a story that depicts pain, struggle and hope. You are a woman who has faced many hardships and reached the highest position in the country. So, you can understand better than anyone else how to turn pain into power. This film has been made to show the truth. But the truth also needs protection. Madam President, I don't want any special features for the film, All I want is that art, truth and the soul of Mother India can speak without fear. You are my last hope. Please protect our constitutional right and allow The Bengal Files to be displayed peacefully in West Bengal. Mithun Chakraborty, Pallavi Joshi, Anupam Kher and Darshan Kumar are playing important roles in The Bengal Files. Presented by Tej Narayan Agarwal and I Am Buddha Productions, the film is part of Vivek's Files trilogy, which also includes The Kashmir Files and The Tashkent Files.
