Local body elections in Porbandar: Forms of many candidates cancelled: AAP and Congress suffer a big blow, political heat increases

The form verification process for the local body elections in Porbandar district has been completed. During this process, the forms of several candidates of Porbandar Municipal Corporation, Zilla Panchayat and Taluka Panchayat have been cancelled. This decision has caused a stir in the political parties, especially the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Congress. A total of seven candidates have been cancelled in the Porbandar Municipal Corporation. Of these, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has suffered the most. The forms of Dharmesh Lakhhubhai Mori and Bhaveshbhai Naranbhai Makwana (both AAP) from Ward No. 3 have been cancelled. Apart from this, the forms of Jivanbhai Ranchhodbhai Jungi, Vasantiben Jitendra Jungi and Varshaben Rameshbhai Gohel (all AAP) from Ward No. 7 have also been cancelled. The forms of Sonalben Nathbhai Solanki (AAP) from ward number 10 and Haja Laxman Odedara of the Bahujan Samaj Party from ward number 11 have also been cancelled. The forms of candidates from three seats in the Zilla Panchayat, including important candidates of the Congress and AAP, have been cancelled. The forms of Maniben Maldebhai Chavda (Congress) from Bakhrla seat, Kaviben Kanabhai Nandaniya (Congress) from Chauta seat and Ramben Bhikhubhai Pandvadar (AAP) from Modhwada seat have been cancelled. The Congress has also suffered a setback after the cancellation of the nomination of Sumariben Bechar Chavda, the Congress candidate from Nagka seat in Porbandar taluka panchayat. Technical glitches and incomplete details were found to be the main reasons for the cancellation of the form. Now, in the coming days, after the process of drawing forms, the final picture of the election will be clearer.
