Positive decision to address the problems of ex-servicemen: Discussion held on construction of "Veer Memorial"

A meeting of the Sainik Grievance Redressal Committee was held under the chairmanship of the District Collector of Porbandar in which a positive decision was taken to resolve the pending issues of the ex-servicemen and their families, construction of a 'Veer Memorial' in the city. Collector S. D. Dhanani presided over the meeting. A meeting of the District Sainik Welfare and Grievance Redressal Committee was held under the chairmanship of the District Collector of Porbandar. In this, a detailed discussion was held with a positive attitude regarding the timely resolution of various pending issues of the ex-servicemen, spouses of the deceased soldiers and their dependents. At the outset of the meeting, Wing Commander (Retd) Krishna Kumar Shukla briefed the Collector about the various activities undertaken by the Sainik Welfare Office during the quarter and the condition of the ex-servicemen. On this occasion, a special demand was made to build a 'Veer Memorial' in Porbandar city to inspire the youth to join the armed forces and to pay true tribute to the martyrs. The meeting was attended by District Development Officer B. B. Choudhary, Joint Industries Commissioner D. R. Parmar and District Employment Officer D. A. Parmar and other senior officials.
