Our greatest strength has been the diversity of our thinking. History is witness that behind every major discovery, there has been the voice of someone who dared to question the accepted assumptions of his time. But in the age of AI, the question that is being raised is whether this technology is eliminating the diversity of our knowledge? Today, what we read, what we search, what ideas we reach and what kind of answers we accept are all influenced by algorithms. Ironically, the digital world that was once thought to be a vast ocean of human experiences, languages, cultures and ideas is now slowly being filled with content created by machines. The digital world is no longer driven by algorithmic systems, not fundamental consciousness. We are creating a knowledge system that is hollowing out its very foundations. The large amount of data on which large language models are trained, the digital environment is also now being filled with artificial content generated by them in the past. Researchers call this suicidal cycle "model autophagy". In this state, a system starts consuming its own data. This gradually reduces the diversity and originality of knowledge. This situation is similar to the fact that when biodiversity in nature is lost, the ecosystem becomes weak. A forest is strong because it contains many types of plants, animals and biological processes. But if it becomes dependent on one type of tree, then one disease can destroy the entire system. The world of knowledge is also like this. When the models of future generations are repeated over and over again on machine-generated data, the original vibrancy, linguistic moisture and subtlety of knowledge begin to disappear. In the long run, it causes "model collapse," where machine responses become highly rigid, non-creative, and flawed. AI systems begin to lose ground-world complexities, learning from their own fabricated paradigms. Many times in history, ideas that were initially rejected that later changed the world. Stomach ulcers were long believed to be the cause of lifestyle and stress. Later, scientists showed that a bacteria called Helicobacter pylori could be the big cause. Initially, the idea was viewed with suspicion, but the discovery was eventually awarded the Nobel Prize in 2005. This is the beauty of science, it moves beyond disagreement and new ideas. The famine in Ireland in the 1840s was not just a natural disaster. The entire agricultural system had become dependent on a single genetic species, due to which a fungal infection pushed millions into the tragedy of starvation and displacement. The world of AI is also moving towards a similar digital monoculture. If the information system of the future starts promoting only those ideas that are already popular, then new and inconvenient questions may gradually disappear. The greatest danger is not misinformation, but uniformity of ideas. Our real strength lies in the ability to think differently, and this is what we have to preserve in the age of AI.
