Due to the street lights on the Maroli railway overbridge, which have been closed for the last 6 months, motorists and pedestrians were forced to move in the darkness at night under the fear of accidents. A written representation was made to the District Collector and then the Chief Minister's Office (CMO) by Vishalbhai, an informed citizen of Maroli Bazar, about this prolonged plight of the locals. Following strict instructions from the CMO and the Collector, the RB department immediately inspected the spot and conducted the tender process and the repair work on the bridge has started from Monday. According to the officials of the Roads and Buildings Department, all the closed streetlights on the overbridge will be restored in the next 10 to 12 days, which will provide a big relief to the night motorists. The vigilant citizen thanked the administration including RB department officer Bharatbhai Thorat and Nimeshbhai Dhimmar for resolving the problem. Demand for High Mast Tower
Erection of a high mast tower in front of Star Bakery at the eastern end of the overbridge and installation of new light poles in the U-turn area from the bridge to Alifnagar have also been made to the administration.
