City Light's Amethyst Wellness Spa Center: Pregnant woman charged with rape, breach of privacy and molestation after unknown man entered room during therapy session

A very shocking case has come to light at the well-known 'Amethyst Wellness and Spa' center located at Kalp Business Center in the posh citylight area of Surat. A 4-month-pregnant woman had booked a physiotherapy and massage session here after seeing good online reviews. Despite a clear assurance that only female staff would serve by the center, a major controversy arose during the session when serious negligence came to light. The matter escalated and both sides have registered a case against each other at the Umra police station. During the therapy session, the woman was shocked when an unknown man entered the room According to the victim woman, about 10 to 15 minutes after her massage session started, she sensed the presence and voice of someone in the room. When she opened her eyes, an unknown young man was standing with the receptionist woman in front of her and staring at her incessantly. The woman was shocked to see this scene and immediately screamed loudly as her privacy was threatened. As soon as the woman protested, the two men immediately fled from there, following which the woman locked the room from inside and changed her clothes. The controversy was further aggravated by the clear denial of the presence of the mail staff After this unexpected incident, the victim immediately called her husband and told him the whole truth and called him to the spot. The couple asked for the contact number of the manager or owner of the center and sought an explanation as to why the male staff came in during the women's session. However, instead of giving any satisfactory answer, the spa employees defended that no mail staff was working in their center. The atmosphere heated up as the staff completely ignored them and the manager who came after an hour and a half did not express any regret or remorse. Umra police registered a case of harassment and breach of privacy on the woman's complaint The woman approached the Umra police station and lodged a written complaint against the rude behaviour and serious negligence meted out to her. The woman alleged that despite assuring the presence of only female staff, the physical privacy of the unknown man was openly violated and molested by allowing an unknown man to enter the closed room. On the basis of this complaint, the Umra police have registered a formal case against the unidentified man and the spa operators under relevant provisions including Section 77 of the BNS. On the other hand, the spa employee filed a counter-complaint of vandalism and violence against the couple On the other hand, Deepa Sahu, a 20-year-old employee working as a receptionist at the Amethyst Wellness Centre, has also filed a cross complaint against the female customer Simran Sharma and her husband at the Umra police station. According to the staff complaint, the woman came out of the therapy room and threatened to abuse and slap her, saying "a man came to my room". Her husband, who came after that, got agitated and tried to attack the staff by throwing a marble stone, glass bottle and wooden box lying on the reception counter at the staff. The police started an investigation on the basis of CCTV footage The Umra police have registered a case under sections 115(2), 324(2) and 351(2) of the Indian Penal Code (BNS) against the woman and her husband on the basis of a complaint by the spa employee. Thus, in the same incident, an FIR has been registered against the woman for violating her privacy and vandalism in the centre on the other hand. Currently, the Umra police team is investigating all aspects of the spa centre and the CCTV footage in and around the spa centre and who actually went into the room and then how the violence took place at the reception.
