The primary health centre was started at Pandhro village in Lakhpat taluka after a long-standing demand. The centre was inaugurated on August 4 at the hands of the MLA from Abdasa area. However, the centre has been closed since the second day of its inauguration. Village leaders led by Panchro group gram panchayat sarpanch Bhachiben Ishaq Raima have made a written representation to the taluka mamlatdar. According to the presentation, at the time of inauguration, people were assured that they will get health services at the local level only. The villagers have alleged that the inauguration was just a photo session and a political drama. In addition, the DMF clinic in the village, which has been running for the last six years, has also been closed. Free treatment was provided by an MBBS doctor in this clinic. The villagers have demanded the opening of a primary health centre within 15 days. They are demanding that doctors, staff and adequate medicines be arranged at the centre. If this demand is not met, the villagers have been warned that they will take to the streets and stage a sit-in and chakka jam.
