Nipul Patel, a 40-year-old resident of Maruti Dham Society near Jupiter Chowk in Manjalpur area of the city, has lodged a complaint with the police. He was standing with his friend near Neelkanth Jewellers near the society. The police were beaten up on suspicion of informants.
In the meantime, three people named Umesh Patil, Kamlesh Patil and Rupesh alias Rahul Shaileshbhai Patil came to the spot. The young man was beaten with a stone and was bleeding profusely.
In the meantime, Umesh Patil picked up a stone from the road and hit Nipulbhai on the head and forehead, due to which he suffered a bloody injury. His father Kamlesh Patil wrapped a belt around his hand and hit him indiscriminately on the body, due to which Nipulbhai also suffered a serious injury in his left eye. After the attack, the accused, Umesh Patil, fled the spot after threatening to kill Nipulbhai. Manjalpur police have registered a legal complaint in connection with the incident and further investigation is underway.
