A 22-year-old man was attacked by a 12-foot crocodile in Vadodara. Locals took down the video and made it viral.

A heart-wrenching incident took place today (May 7, 2026) afternoon near Kagdipura village in Waghodia taluka of Vadodara district. A 22-year-old man, Mithun Maheshbhai Vasava Dev, was attacked by a 12-foot crocodile and grabbed him in the jaw from the waist when he went to graze cattle. The crocodile dragged the youth into the deep water of the river and kept his body in his mouth for hours, the videos of which have gone viral on social media. The crocodile hunted while trying to fetch water in the unbearable heat Mithun, a resident of Kagdipura area of Vyara village, had gone to graze cattle in Vasava border. Thirsty due to the scorching heat, he took a plastic can with him and lowered it on the banks of the Dev river to fetch water. The crocodile, which was hiding under the surface of the water, suddenly jumped and attacked the youth. The crocodile grabbed the youth by the waist and dragged him into the water in no time. As Mithun is the only son of the Vasava family, there is a lot of grief and panic in Kagdipura village following this tragic incident. Despite the presence of numerous crocodiles in the Dev river, there is also resentment among the locals due to lack of security. The crocodile was very big, about 11 to 12 feet tall. He kept going into the water with his body in his mouth. We took the boat and reached about 10 feet of the crocodile, but it dived into the water and drifted half a kilometre away. The water is also very deep so it is difficult to catch it.
