
Damien Martyn: Former Australian star cricketer Damien Martin is currently suffering from a life-threatening disease like meningitis and has been placed in an induced coma. Martin, 54, was admitted to a hospital in Brisbane on December 26 in critical condition. Martin has meningitis, a disease in which the membranes around the brain and spinal cord become inflamed. It can cause inflammation in the brain and can prove fatal.
Former Australian wicketkeeper-batsman and a close friend of Martin's, Adam Gilchrist, on behalf of his family, informed the public that Martin is undergoing treatment at the hospital.
