Royalty in one truck stopping 8 trucks, the rest illegal: Sand mafia attacks mining team in Jodia

A case of sand mafia has become rampant and attacking officials in Jodiya taluka of Jamnagar district has come to light. A team of the Mines and Minerals Department, including royalty inspector Nikhilbhai Potayat and his colleague Rameshbhai Dalsania, conducted a check when 8 trucks loaded with sand passed by Badanpar village of Jodia. Only one truck was found to have legal royalty, while another 7 trucks were caught transporting illegal sand without any pass-permit. When the team of the mineral department started the legal seizure proceedings against these vehicles, the owner of a truck rushed to the spot in a fit of rage. He got into a heated altercation with the officials and started abusing them. Not only this, the mafia removed an iron leaf from the truck and fatally assaulted the officials of the Mineral Department and obstructed the government duty. The incident of the attack has created a stir in the system and the entire matter has reached the Jodiya police station and the police have taken up a proposal to register a case.
