Vadodara: Officials of Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam (GURDC) and Central Gujarat Power Company (GGVC) on Thursday conducted a raid on 1,731 connections in various villages of Desar, Savli, Manjusar, Chhani and Jambua in Vadodara district. Electricity theft worth Rs 27.18 lakh has been detected and action has been taken to collect fine.As many as 55 teams have been formed in the villages of five sub-divisions of the Central Gujarat Power Company.

The DCB police have nabbed two accused who stole from four houses in Vadodara, Sama and Nizampura areas. Police have seized a total of Rs 74.30 lakh worth of contrabands from the accused. A gang of thieves stole gold, silver ornaments and Rs 4 lakh in cash from the house of Naresh Devabhai Patel, a resident of Nandanvan Society in New Samarod. LLB student dies after being hit by car near Sevasi village
