The Vadodara assembly seat fell vacant after the death of veteran Manjalpur MLA Yogesh Patel. The Election Commission has announced a by-election for the seat. The notification for the bye-election to the Assembly constituency was published on July 06, 2026. Polling will be held on July 30, 2026 and the results will be declared on August 3, 2026. There is a rush of candidates from the BJP to contest the seat.
Huge pull to get tickets
The political heat has intensified over the Manjalpur Assembly by-election. A total of 104 candidates, including 83 men and 21 women, have filed their nominations during the census process conducted by the party.
Appointment of 18 Nodal Officers
As many as 18 nodal officers have been appointed for the bypolls to the seat. Yogesh Patel from Vadodara had won the seat with a big lead in all the three elections in 2017, 2022 and 2022.
