The fire brigade team reached the spot after receiving a message that three youths had fallen into a drainage line at the UN Mehta Hospital yesterday evening. However, one person was pulled out by the locals and sent to the hospital, while two persons were pulled out of the drainage line by the fire brigade team and shifted to the hospital for treatment. The incident was reported to be a contractual employee at the hospital itself. An employee is alleged to have died.
The condition of the trio was found to be very critical. The families of the three reached the hospital. However, the family alleges that the hospital did not allow them to meet them and that one person died. He was an employee of a company named SMC, which runs a housekeeping contract, and it has been alleged that he died. However, there has been no official announcement from the hospital yet. During the cleaning of the underground sewage tank on the hospital premises, a labourer suddenly fell unconscious due to poisonous gas and fell directly from the ground into the half-filled tank. Two other persons who were present there to see him drowning and rescue him also got down in the tank immediately, but due to the severe effects of the poisonous gas, they too fell unconscious on the spot and got trapped in the sewage water tank. The fire brigade team rushed to the spot after receiving a message that three youths had fallen into the drainage pipeline in the basement of the hospital.
