In Porbandar district, when an animal or birds get injured, people bring the bird or animals to the bird sanctuary for treatment, as many as 323 birds and animals were brought for treatment from the district in July and August last year, out of which 55 birds died, other birds were treated and released, while some birds were admitted for treatment. The animals and birds are being treated at the Bird Sanctuary in Porbandar. A treatment centre for animals and birds has been set up at the sanctuary, in which injured animals and birds are cared for and food and treatment is provided. In the months of July, August and September last year, as many as 323 injured birds and animals were brought to the bird sanctuary by people and rescuers, including pythons, crocodiles, lightning, cobras, snakes, turtles, peacocks, titodies, musked boobies, crows, herons, pheasants, cuckoos, kanjio, bulbul dhells. As many as 55 of the 323 birds died while other injured birds were treated and released, while some birds and animals have been kept under observation at the treatment centre of the bird sanctuary for further treatment.
