On the occasion of Dussehra festival, there was a huge demand for fafda and jalebi in Patan city. On this festival, which is the victory of religion over adharma, there is a unique custom of eating fafda-jalebi along with Ravana Dahan. As per this tradition, on Thursday, the residents of Patan thronged the snack stalls and sweet shops to buy fafda-jalebi. The people of Patan enjoyed fafda and jalebi worth lakhs of rupees. To meet this demand, the kandois made special preparations by arranging extra frying pans. As a result, a large quantity of fafda-jalebi was available at sweet shops and snack stalls. This year, the price of fafda has been between Rs 440 and Rs 480 per kg. Pure ghee jalebi was sold at Rs 520 to Rs 560 per kg and oil jalebi at Rs 240 to Rs 280 per kg. Apart from this, chola phali was available at the rate of Rs 360 to Rs 400 per kg and ganthia at Rs 300 to Rs 320 per kg. On this auspicious occasion of Dussehra, the people of Patan made the festival of Vijayadashami memorable by tasting fafada-jalebis worth lakhs of rupees.
