9 gates of Khodiyar Dam upstream of Shetrunji Dam opened: The level of Shetrunji Dam reached 25.4 feet at midnight.

Due to heavy rains in Amreli, the inflow of water in Shetrunji Dam in Palitan has started today and this evening the inflow of water from the upper catchment area of the dam has increased to 29,615 cusecs. Earlier, it was 5,684 cusecs in the morning and later it increased to 12,385 cusecs. Also, the water level in the dam was 79,760 cusecs at night and the level of the dam reached 25.4 feet at night. It is worth mentioning here that Shetrunji Dam, the largest dam in Saurashtra with a drainage area of 4317 sq km and a water storage capacity of 346.48 million cubic meters, is the lifeline of 35,750 hectares of land. Due to heavy rains in Amreli district yesterday, the Dhari Khodiyar Dam, which is the Santhi Mota Dam in Amreli district, was overflowing. Nine gates of Khodiyar Dam were opened at 6:45 pm today and the flow of water passing through the dam was 31950 cusecs. The dam overflows at 75 feet and has a maximum water level of 202.68 metres. Later in the evening, the nine gates of the dam were opened by 2.43 metres and an alert was issued in 43 villages of Amreli district and Bhavnagar district before the gates of the dam were opened. An alert was issued to several villages in Dhari Savarkundla and Jesar diocese. Pond overflows in Ratol village of Mahuva taluka The Bapu Lake, built in 37 hectares with the help of Syed Mahdi Bapu in Ratol village of Mahuva taluka, was overflowing due to rains today.
