Vadodara: The Crime Branch has nabbed a man for allegedly cheating an elderly man of Rs 1.5 lakh in the name of giving him a gold necklace of Rs 3 lakh to an elderly man from Dahod who came to the Civil Hospital for the treatment of his wife.
Devchandbhai, a 75-year-old resident of Munkhosla in Jhalod, came to Sayaji Hospital for his wife's treatment when he found a lump on a tea stall and said that he had found a gold necklace during the excavation and had to be given for Rs 3 lakh.
The elderly man and his grandson got off the bus near Pandya Bridge and took them to Mehsana Nagar and gave them one and a half lakh rupees for fake gold.
