The administration immediately started repair work after a leakage occurred in front of a gate of the Panam Dam, which was built in 1977-78 in Shahra taluka of Panchmahal district. The administration was relieved that the repair work was completed after 36 hours of struggle.
Leakage was detected yesterday in the rubber seal on the left side of gate number two of the dam. Therefore, the officials of the Panam Project Circle Department and the Irrigation Mechanical Department-1, Vadodara were put to work.
In order to prevent the flow of water from the leakage site, the water leakage was reduced by placing waste cotton at the initial stage, after which repair work was carried out.
