The brutal murder of a Jain monk in Rajasthan's Pali has now fallen in Ahmedabad. The incident has caused a lot of anger and anguish among the Jain community, due to which a huge "Sant Suraksha Rally" was organized in Ahmedabad today (June 7). In which Jain leaders alleged targeted killing through the "hit and run" method, the VHP demanded a committee be formed and an inquiry should be conducted. Demand for protection of saints
The rally started from Shri Rewa Jain Sangh, Vasna and was followed by a meeting held at Pritamnagar Akhada. The rally was attended by young children to elderly people. Despite the extreme heat, people from the Jain community thronged the meeting venue in large numbers. Allegations of targeted killing using the "hit and run" method
Jain community leaders said that four Jain saints have been killed in the last 15 days. They allege that for the past few years, a similar method of "hit and run" is being used to target Jain saints, india's invaluable heritage. In Rajasthan's Pali too, a Jain monk was crushed to death by a truck driver on the service road. The main points and demands of the application were ignored in the earlier submissions
The Jain community also reminded that earlier when Vijay Rupani was the Chief Minister, there was a proposal to build a footpath for sadhus and saints, but no work has been done on it so far. This has made the anger in the society even darker. Protests in other cities of Gujarat
Apart from Ahmedabad, people from the Jain community in other cities of Gujarat have also expressed anger over the incident and submitted petitions to the collectors. The incident has created an atmosphere of mourning and anger in the entire Jain community, and they are expecting the government to take immediate and concrete steps for the safety of the saints.
